Remembering Lou Schnier

Long-time member Lou Schnier, 89, passed away on February 17, 2020 due to complications from a stroke.

Lou initially attended other churches in his home town of Ft. Thomas, KY, until he discovered Cincinnati Friends Meeting. He was pleased when he came to worship and saw one of his favorite professors from the University of Cincinnati, Wayne Overmyer.  But most importantly, Lou found inner peace and a spiritual home at our Meeting. Although he moved to Arizona many years ago, he never transferred his membership elsewhere, and he eagerly read The Traveling Friend to keep up-to-date on the news from our faith community.

Lou graduated summa cum laude from UC and worked for 34 years at Procter & Gamble. He was an avid photographer and loved to travel. While living in Kentucky, he belonged to the Caeser Creek Gliderport, where he pursued his passion for flying.

Lou is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Chris, along with four children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Remembrances may be given to the Arizona Talking Book Library.
