Mark your calendar and join in for a couple of hours to remove Honeysuckle and Privet in the woodland behind the Meeting House. The efforts already made are beginning to make a difference. Thank you!

Volunteers are needed to do a variety of jobs like hand pulling, digging up or sawing/trimming plants and trees and/or to dragging them near the parking area. Be prepared for the weather. You may want to wear long pants, long sleeves, a hat, and work gloves. Please wear sturdy closed-toed shoes and bring your water bottle. If you have a shovel available, please bring along with you, we will also have a few on hand.

Privet, Honeysuckle and other invasives have and will continue to take over the woodland surrounding the Meetinghouse. If not controlled, these invasive plants will cause environmental harm to the woodland ecosystem. Invasive species spread rapidly and quickly shade-out the healthy variety of wildflowers, grasses, and trees. Eventually, an ecosystem is dominated with invasive species. Left with nowhere to live, the bees, butterflies, birds, and other critters move away. By removing these species, the Meetinghouse property ecosystem will begin to function as it once did- naturally.
